Journals

My favorite way of capturing memories as I travel is by keeping a Watercolor
Journal. On the pages of my journal I create tiny ink and watercolor paintings, write notes about where I am, what is going on around me, and the people I meet. If I am teaching a painting trip or workshop, I encourage my students to create Watercolor Journals instead of trying to capture the place in a larger painting. These little gems become "Memory Books" treasured by the artist who create them and their families. Here are a few pages from my Watercolor Journals.

Plein Aire Paintings
In addition to creating pages in my Watercolor Journals I also enjoy painting small
paintings on site, or as the French say, "Plein Aire".
